Three individuals are behind bars at the Saline County jail in connection with the Tuesday morning shooting death of Steve Smith. Smith, 24, of Mabelvale was found dead around 3:30 a.m. from a gunshot wound to his head, authorities said.

Bauxite mayor's son one of two teens charged with theft
Bauxite Police Chief William Davis said that one of two 17-year-olds arrested Monday on theft charges is the son of Bauxite Mayor Eddie Jones. In addition to the juveniles, Benton police said Blane Christopher Dunn, 19, was charged with six counts of breaking and entering and theft of property.
